EDWARDS — Diana Montgomery Wheaton of Jackson died Friday, June 26, 2015, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson. She was 55.
Mrs. Wheaton was born on March 28, 1960, in Edwards to Liza Ann Coleman and the late Melvin Hunter.
She attended Hinds Agricultural High School and graduated as salutatorian in 1977. She graduated from Utica Junior College with an associate’s degree in 1979, and graduated from Jackson State University. She later received a license practical nurse certificate from Hinds Community College and was the owner of Grace and Mercy Home Health Care.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Doris Coleman and Mattie Mae Dulaney; brothers, Andrew Coleman, Elvin Hunter and Larry Hunter; grandmother, Thelma Montgomery; and an aunt, Ruby Coleman.
Survivors include her sons, James Rashae Montgomery and Christopher Jordan Wheaton, both of Clinton; five grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann McCoy, Inette Williams and Doretha
Coleman, all of Jackson, Gloria Ellison of Atlanta, and Wanda Cole and Theresa Hunter of Edwards;
brothers, Henry Coleman Jr. of Byhalia, Johnny Hunter of Edwards, Oliver Coverson and
Melvin Hunter Jr., both of Chicago; an uncle; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends
Funeral Service will be noon Friday, July 3, 2015, at St James MB Church in Edwards.
Visitation is Thursday from 1 to 7 p.m. at Willis and Sons Funeral Home in Jackson.
