Kings Center basketball
The Kings Community Empowerment Center will host a basketball jamboree fundariser on Saturday.
The youth basketball tournament is for children in grades 6-9, will be split into two age divsions, and will begin at 9 a.m. The registration fee is $75 per team, and each team is guaranteed to play at least two games. The registration deadline is today.

On July 19, the Kings Empowerment Center will host the Big Boy Basketball tournament, a double-elimination tournament for players 18 and over. The entry fee is $100 per team, and the deadline to register is Monday. The tournament will begin at 4 p.m.
Teams must have a minimum of five players and a maximum of 10 for the 5-on-5 tournament.

PCA basketball camp
Porters Chapel Academy will host a youth basketball camp on July 31. The camp is for children in grades 2-6, and will run from 8 a.m. to noon. The cost is $30. Registration forms are available in the PCA office Monday through Thursday, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the registration deadline is July 29. For more information, call 601-638-3733.
VHS archery instructors
Vicksburg High School is looking for two archery instructors for its start-up competitive archery program. All interested applicants should contact VHS principal Deowarski McDonald at 601-636-2914.
City tennis program
The City of Vicksburg Parks and Recreation Deprtment is hosting a daily youth tennis camp this summer at the Halls Ferry Park courts. The camp is open to children between the ages of 6-18, and is for all skill levels. A session for beginner players will take place from 8 to 10 a.m. daily, and a session for advanced players each Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon. The camp will continue through July.

Hopson Football Camp
Alcorn State University and head coach Jay Hopson will host a football camp for high school players July 17 at Jack Spinks Stadium on the Lorman campus.
The camp will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. The cost is $25, and players should bring tennis shoes, cleats, shorts and a T-shirt.

USM baseball camp
Southern Miss will host a weeklong baseball camp for children in grades 1-7, from July 13-15. The camp will cover fundamentals in hitting, baserunning, and defensive techniques.
The camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day at Pete Taylor Park in Hattiesburg, with sign-in taking place from 8:15 to 9 a.m. The cost of each camp is $165 per person, and the camps are limited to 100 participants.

M-Braves baseball camp
The Mississippi Braves Baseball Camp is scheduled for July 23-25 at Trustmark Park in Pearl. The camp will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day, and is open to boys and girls ages 5-14. It will feature instruction by the M-Braves players and staff, and each participant will receive an M-Braves cap and merchandise, lunch and beverages each day, a certificate of achievement, two tickets to the M-Braves games on July 23, 24 and 25, and an autograph session and on-field recognition prior to the game on July 25.
The cost of the camp is $150 per child.
