Burglars smashed the windows of two vehicles over the weekend in Vicksburg, making off with a computer and a purse.

Friday morning a laptop computer and a briefcase were reported stolen from a Nissan Maxima in the 2700 block of Cherry Street, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

Sunday, a purse and contents were reported stolen from a 2013 GMC Yukon in the 1600 block of Vicklan Street, Williams said.

Additionally, a Master Blaster fan was reported stolen Friday afternoon from a home in the 2100 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, and Saturday afternoon a Vizio computer monitor and a 37-inch television were missing from a home in the 1900 block of Hope Street, she said.

 

Car, truck stolen

Two vehicles were missing Monday following weekend auto thefts in Vicksburg.

Saturday, a 2004 Oldsmobile Alero with Mississippi license plate WAJ545 was reported stolen from the 1000 block of Stadium Drive, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.

A maroon 2012 Dodge Ram Big Horn with Tennessee license plate G0529U was reported stolen from Ameristar Casino, 4116 Washington St. early Sunday morning, Williams said.

Electronics, weapons hot in burglaries

Electronics and weapons were among items missing in four burglaries reported over the weekend in Warren County.

A five-ton air conditioner unit, lumber, hand tools, 25 DVDs, two push lawnmowers, assorted food, carpet, electrical wiring and clothing were reported stolen from a home in the 400 block of Kirkland Road, according to Warren County sheriff’s records.

The resident told deputies he had been in jail and discovered the items missing when he returned home.

A Nikon camera valued at $350 and a Gerber knife valued at $35 were reported stolen Sunday morning from a Toyota Truck in the 900 block of Wells Road, according to sheriff’s records.

Also Sunday, $24 in change and an Old Henry knife were reported stolen from a Honda Accord in the 800 block of Gowall Road.

Sunday afternoon a .22-caliber pistol valued at $500, a Browning .22-caliber pistol valued at $800 and a case containing two pistols with a combined value of $1,700 were reported missing from a home in the 100 block of Short Sherman Avenue, according to sheriff’s records.
