People wanting to vote in the Nov. 3 general election have until noon Oct. 3 to register to vote.
“We will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 3 to allow people to come in and register to vote for the general election,” Warren County Circuit Clerk Jan Hyland Daigre said. “That’s the same day as the (Old Court House) Flea Market and the Fall Festival, so there will be plenty activity downtown, and people who want to register to vote can come on in while they’re at the flea market.”
The Nov. 3 election is for state and county offices, and voters will also be asked to decide between two propositions to fund state public schools.
People registering to vote in Mississippi do not have to give a party affiliation when they register, and voter registration forms can be picked up between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday at the circuit clerk’s office on the second floor of the Warren County Courthouse or can be printed from the Mississippi Secretary of State’s website by going to www.sos.ms.gov and clicking on “voter registration information.”
Besides voter registration, people can also vote absentee at the clerk’s office. Daigre said her office will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Oct. 24 and Oct. 31 for absentee voting for the Nov. 3 election.
