Angela Thomas Stamps

Angela Thomas Stamps was born Nov. 25, 1972, to the union of the late David E. Thomas, Jr. and Daisy Smith Thomas Taylor.

A native of Vicksburg, she was a member of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. Angela attended school in the Vicksburg Warren School District and graduated from Warren Central High School in 1991. Upon graduation, she enrolled in Jackson State University.

While attending JSU, she became a member of the Delta Pi Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. She graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in accounting.

While in college, she was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Resource Management (finance and accounting). After graduation, she accepted a position as an accountant at Harrah’s Casino. Most recently, she served as a career counselor at Vicksburg High School, touching the lives of so many students, faculty, and staff.

She was abundantly blessed, and left loving memories to be cherished by one daughter, I’Sheana B. Stamps, and one son, Cameron I. Stamps, both of Vicksburg; stepchildren, Iris Williams (Isaac) and Brandon Harper, both of Vicksburg, and Joseph Durr of Jackson; grandmother, Caldonia Thomas; aunts, Alice Smith, LueBertha Crawford, Judy King, and Kara Johnson, all of Vicksburg, and Diane Thomas of Scottsdale, Ariz.; uncle, Alfred Smith of Vicksburg; and nieces, nephews, friends and extended family, including the Smith, Thomas, Stamps, Meeks, Cartwright, Reagan, Jenkins, and Lowe families.

Services will be noon on Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at the Vicksburg Auditorium with the Rev. Dr. Casey D. Fisher officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be held at funeral home Saturday from 1 to 7 p.m.
