Post office cleared after bomb threat

The U.S. Post Office on Pemberton Square Boulevard has been cleared after an unknown caller made simultaneous bomb threats against it and Vicksburg High School,.

Deputy Vicksburg police chief Bobby Stewart said the bomb threat was called to an E911 dispatcher at 11:58 a.m., and police were notified. He said students at the high school and post office employees were evacuated, and Vicksburg High School and the post office were searched by the police department’s explosives detection dog, X-on.

The high school was cleared by police officials at 1:23 p.m. and students were allowed to return to class. The post office was cleared about 2:40 p.m.
