Oasis Pools & Spas has a new location in Vicksburg, but a step out the back door feels like a tropical getaway.
Owner Jason Daniels said the unique part about the new location is the pool park, which displays three model pools and a number of other options the company provides including spas, fountains and a pergola.
“It showcases what we do,” he said. “It showcases what we can do for people who want a vinyl liner pool, a fiberglass pool or a gunite pool.”
The model pools also display different accessories and lighting options.
“When people come and shop, they can actually see what they’re going to buy,” he said. “We went all out because we want to pull customers from surrounding cities and become a destination store.”
Daniels opened up shop in 2010 but said he’s always known he wanted to expand. “We wanted to build something that was unique for our industry and of course get a bigger place so we could do that,” he said. “This was our intention from the beginning, but we just had to find the right property.”
The right location ended up being a vacant building at 3601 Pemberton Square Boulevard.
“We basically tore it down to the slab and the steel beams,” he said. “It’s basically a new building.”
Daniels said he chose to invest in Vicksburg because it’s where he was born and raised.
“I’ve been in the pool business for 26 years, and it’s been here in Vicksburg,” he said. “All of our employees and their families are here, and we knew we could make this work. We try to do what we can for Vicksburg.”
Oasis Pools & Spas builds liner, fiberglass and gunite pools, stone and brick fountains and wood products including pergolas, pool houses and decks. The company also installs above ground pools and spas.
Employees can do water analysis for customers, and the store is sells chemicals and pool equipment and parts.
With 16 full time employees, Oasis also offers a full service and maintenance department.
Daniels said pools start in the mid-$30,000 and go up in price depending on the size of the pool, the yard it goes in and the accessories and the amenities added on. Daniels said they’ve sold some pools residentially approaching $100,000.
