Police seek suspect in Texaco robbery

Vicksburg police are looking for a man who robbed the Texaco BG Jr. Texaco on East Clay Street Saturday night, Capt. Sandra Williams said.
She said the man entered the store, pointed a handgun at the clerk on duty took money from the store and left on foot.

Man faces drug charge
A Vicksburg man was arrested Monday at the Vicksburg Police Station on a warrant charging him with sale of methamphetamine, Capt. Sandra Williams said.
Benjamin Hugley, 33, turned himself in to police about 10:30 a.m. Monday. He was being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $7,500 bond.
Traffic stops result in arrests on MDOC warrants
A Sunday traffic stop by Vicksburg police resulted in the arrest of a man on a Mississippi Department of Corrections warrant, Capt. Sandra Williams said.
Coleman McKay, no age given, was arrested after the warrant appeared during a records check after he was stopped on First North Street about 9 p.m. Sunday for having no car tag and no tail lights.
Also on Sunday, David McFelt, 28, was arrested on an MDOC warrant appeared after he was stopped at Fifth North and Grove streets for speeding.
Firearms, purse taken in weekend auto burglaries
Firearms and a purse were among the items reported missing in two auto burglaries reported over the weekend, Vicksburg police Capt. Sandra Williams said.
Two handguns valued at $975 and an undetermined amount of cash were taken about 7:30 a.m. Saturday from a 2002 Ford parked at the La Quinta Inn and Suites, 4160 South Frontage Road.
Friday, a purse and its contensts was reported taken about 8:30 p.m. from a Honda Accord parked at the Ameristar Casino, 4146 Washington Street.
