Mother’s Day is a time-honored tradition where mothers everywhere are honored for all of their hard work.
Three-, four- and five-year-old students at Dell Roger’s Colonial Day School had plenty to say about their doting mothers:
• Olivia Lee said she loves her mom Lacey Lee because she always plays with her.
“She tickles my head and plays with my hair, and she always gives me kisses,” she said. “She always checks on me to see if I’m awake.”
• Cole Butler said his mom Heather Butler is fun.
“When I don’t make a mess, my momma is proud of me,” he said, adding he likes when she helps him clean his room.
• Owen Mallard said his mom Jennifer Mallard is in Washington D.C., but she always FaceTimes him when it’s time to go to bed.
“Sometimes we go look for spiders,” he said, talking about fun times at their family camp, adding he loves “when she plays with me.”
• Clayton Reeves said his God made his mom Stephanie Reeves special.
“She loves me, and she kisses me a lot,” he said. “She taught me how to swing when I was a itty bitty baby.”
• Molly Hill said she loves when her mom Blair Hill hugs and kisses her.
“She does a prayer with me every single night,” she said. “I love to stay home with her all day long and sit on her.”
• George Holifield said he loves when his mom Kate Holifield makes him chocolate milk.
“She’s sweet,” he said. “She hugs me.”
• Carson Porter said his mom Holly Porter is special because sometimes she cooks supper — actually, she always cooks supper. For Mother’s Day, Carson said along with his father and brother Jacob, he plans to cook for his mom.
“Know what? I love my mom so much, and I never ever stop,” he said. “I just love her so much because she does a lot of things. This is the most important thing: I love my mom so much and God.”
• Drake Tillotson said his mom Anna Tillotson takes care of his little brother Nick, but she still makes time for him.
“She takes care of Nick every time,” he said. “She plays the chicken and the animal game with me.”
• Mary Helen Bradley said she loves when her mom Carolyn Bradley playfully holds her upside down and her hair goes all the way down to the floor.
“She loves me,” she said. “She calls me chipmunk.”
• Lilli Josey said she loves her mom Erika Todd.
“She hugs me and gives me kisses,” she said.
• Aden Weeks said he loves Claudette Whitlock because she is his grandma.
“She always give me food and toys,” he said. “She gives me hugs.”
• Lynlee McMillin said her mom Jennifer McMillin always cooks for her.
“She makes chicken and rice and waffles,” she said. “We watch TV together before bed.”
