McKinley Jamal Thomas passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at his parents’ home in Huntsville, Ala. He was 31.
He was born Sept. 20, 1985 in Vicksburg to Valeria (Thomas) McConnell.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William McKinley Thomas; grandfathers, Mr. Garrett Bullock and Mr. M.C. Perry; and aunt/godmother, Dolores “Lolo” Jackson.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Valeria and William McConnell of Huntsville; his brother, Thomas McConnell of Atlanta; and stepsiblings, Terence (Jerry) McConnell of Vine Grove, Ky., LaTyonia McConnell-Williams of Seminole, Fla., Cheryl McConnell of Halethorpe, Md., Karen (Timothy) McNulty and Karla (Michael) Sauter of Pasadena, Md.; his loving grandmother, Dolores Bullock of Vicksburg; his uncles, Daniel (Lori) Thomas Sr. and Michael (Sandy) Jackson Sr. of Vicksburg and Chesley McConnell of St. Stephens, S.C.; his aunts, Irma Jackson of San Bernardino, Calif., Bette Washington of McDonough, Ga., Edna (Thomas) Washington and Virginia (Wilbert) Smith of Vicksburg, Martha Bullock Fields of Gwynn Oak, Md., Pauline Riley and Rosemary Williams of Detroit; godfather, Glenn Oliver of Vicksburg; his nieces, nephews, cousins; and devoted friends, Charles, Cameron, Darius, Bernard, Eugene, James and Tavaris.
A Celebration of Life Service will be Saturday, April 1 at 2 p.m. at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 2 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the family present at 6 p.m.
Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
