STARKVILLE — Carolyn Lorraine Holt Arnold, 79, passed away at home, surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday, April 12, 2017, following a heroic battle with cancer.

Always thinking of others, she lived one of her favorite scriptural songs, “Make Me a Channel of Your Peace.”

Carolyn is survived by her husband of 57 years, Rayburn Lee Arnold Sr.; her two daughters, Glenda Arnold Dixon (Chris) of Vicksburg and Jeanette Arnold Britt (Greg) of Brandon; and son, Rayburn Lee Arnold Jr. (Janice) of Ball Ground, Ga.; two sisters, Virginia Barnett (Jim) of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and JoAnne Smith (Don) of Lewiston, N.Y.; sister-in-law, Loretta Hendrix Fry (Ed) of Tupelo; and nine grandchildren, Jonathan Taylor Muse, Thomas Brennan Muse, Joshua Lawrence Dixon, Emilee Elizabeth Arnold, Zachary Taylor Britt, Amy Leigh Dixon, Faith Alexandra Britt, Samuel Luke Dixon and Madelyne Grace Britt; as well as numerous beloved cousins, nieces and nephews across the U.S.

Her brother, Larry Holt of Providence, R.I.; and granddaughter, Jessica Leah Dixon of Vicksburg preceded her in death.

Those wishing to make memorial gifts may donate to the Palmer Home for Children in Columbus, MS or St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Starkville.

Visitation will be held at the Catholic Center, St. Joseph Catholic Church in Starkville from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 20, 2017, and Friday, April 21, 2017, from 10 to 11 a.m.

A memorial mass will be held from 11 a.m. to noon following the Friday morning visitation.

She will be interred in the Columbarium at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Starkville.
