Edna Henry Hosemann

Edna Henry Hosemann passed away Monday, May 22, 2017, at St. Catherine’s Village in Madison.  She was 99.

Born in 1918, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Edward and Maggie Phelan Henry of Vicksburg.  She was a graduate of St. Francis Xavier Academy and was a lifelong communicant of St. Paul Catholic Church.  She was a registered nurse who began her career at the Street Clinic in Vicksburg and retired after a long career working as a family medicine nurse for Dr. James Guerriero.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, The Hon. Anthony J. Hosemann Jr.; one brother, Bernard Henry; one sister, Elizabeth Henry Nelson (George); aunts, Annie Phelan (Mother Clementine), Katie Phelan and Mary Josephine Biedenharn.

Survivors include her niece, Patricia Dichter of Las Vegas; and numerous other nieces and nephews, including the Biedenharn and Hosemann families.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, May 26, at St. Paul Catholic Church with the Rev. Tom Lalor officiating.

Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery under the direction of Frank J. Fisher Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. Friday until the hour of service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Herman Biedenharn, Richard Biedenharn, Herman Biedenharn Jr., David Hosemann, Gerald Hosemann, Jimmy Halford, David Biedenharn and Herman Biedenharn “Indy” VI.

Honorary pallbearers will be Joan Garrard, Juanita Lanier, Flavia Overman, Dr. Daniel Edney, Frank Vollor, Warner Biedenharn and Jimmy Biedenharn.

The family would like to thank the caregivers and staff of St. Catherine’s Village for their love and devotion to Edna.
