Mary Gene Reed died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland. She was 83.

Born and raised in Jackson, she lived most of her life in Vicksburg where she was employed in the cafeterias of the Warren County School System.

She was a member of the Warrenton Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon “Shorty” Reed in 1990.

Survivors include her three daughters, Laurie Moore of Clinton, Robin Keck and Cheryl Joseph both of Vicksburg; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017, in the Utica Cemetery, in Utica, with the Rev. Marvin Curtis officiating.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg.
