James Doyle Froman

James Doyle Froman died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2017, at the River Region Medical Center. He was 73.

A lifelong resident of Vicksburg, he was formerly employed by Cities Service, the Big Star Grocery Store for 20 years and retired from Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store after 23 years.

His hobbies were puttering about in the yard and keeping freshwater aquariums. When not outdoors, he enjoyed listening to classical music while his favorite cat purred in his lap. He also loved picnics in Rocky Springs surrounded by family and nature.

He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Doyle and Mable Willis Froman; his brother, E.D. Froman and his sisters, Mary Jorden and Shirley Pearson.

Survivors include his wife, Helen G. Froman of Vicksburg; his brother-in-law, Billy Jorden of Tupelo; his sister, Patsy Froman (Jimmy) Clements of Pearl; a niece, Janet (Ronnie) Riggen of Smithville; nephews, Brad Clements and Brandon Williams both of Brandon; daughter, Kristie Froman of Boston, Mass.; sister-in-law, Dot Froman of Pearl; niece, Judy Froman of Pearl; and his great-niece, Julie Dabbs of Amory.

Funeral Services will be held at noon on Monday, Oct. 23, 2017 in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home with Rev. Marvin Curtis officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10 a.m Monday until the hour of the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Mike Green, John Woods, Bobby Turner, Chad Sonnett, Brumhan Gates and Brandon Williams.

Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Piggly Wiggly and the employees of Waring Oil Co.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to PAWS Rescue, the Blair E. Batson Hospital or the American Cancer Society.
