Bobby Earl Raines

Bobby Earl Raines, 85, made his way home to be with the Lord Nov. 4, 2017.
Bobby was born in Vicksburg to J.T. and Nannie Hall Raines.
Bobby had many adventures throughout his life. He was a U.S. veteran, professional wrestler, chemical operator, law enforcement officer, firefighter, carpenter and fulfilled his dream of helping others while working at Glenwood Funeral Home.
He was an avid hunter, fisherman, horseman and trapper. He was past president of the Mississippi Trappers Association and Fur Takers of America.
He was a lifetime member of the W.G. Paxton Masonic Lodge, becoming a member in 1953.
Bobby was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Grace.
In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his wives, Carolyn Knotts Raines and Carolyn Lumbley Thomas Raines; and his brother, John E. Raines.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Creel Raines; his daughters, Sharon R. Marshall and Barbara (Marty) May; his son, Tim A. (Sandy) Raines; his stepchildren, Alton (Alisha) Creel and Rookie (Maria) Creel; his grandchildren, Lisa M. (Doug) Hasty, Laurie M. Reece, Amanda M. (David) Harris, Ben Raines, Madison Raines, Kami May, Karly May, Kennedy May and Chloe Hollowell; his step-grandchildren, Jillian Creel, Karys Creel and Ashley C. (Donald) Clark; his great-grandchildren, Jessica Hasty, Katlyn Reece, Carmen Harris and Blair Harris; his step-great-grandchildren, Byrson Clark and Lake Clark; his great-great-grandchild, Harlie Reece; his sister-in-law, Betty W. Raines; and numerous nieces; nephews; and cousins.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9, 2017, in the chapel of Glenwood Funeral Home with the Revs. Tommy Stevenson and Bobby Pope officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery.
Visitaton will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Wooley, Joe Wooley, Doug Vinzant, Wayne Mann, George Spratley, Charles Jones, Wayne White, Jack Hollingsworth, Jack Curtis Jr., Ed Buelow, Warren Pace, Bobby Dale Wascom, Milton Goza, Parnell Ross, Ronnie Clark, Ronnie Frith, Monty Redditt, Jimmy Keen, the Members of the W.G. Paxton Masonic Lodge, retired Vicksburg Fire Deptartment Employees and the employees of Glenwood Funeral Home.
