Betty Jo Smith

Betty Jo Smith, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2017, at the age of 84 after a brief illness.
Services will be Monday, Nov. 20, 2017, at Crawford Street United Methodist Church in Vicksburg.
Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at noon.
Betty Jo was born on March 29, 1933, in Florence.
She is survived by her husband, Robert P. Smith (Bob) of 61 years; her sister, Charlene Thomas of Picayune; daughters, Lisa Thompson (Mark) of
Jackson, and Amy Johnson (Steve) of Branson, Mo.; grandchildren, Landon Thompson, Lindsey Thompson Brunson (Will) of Jackson, Hannah and Haley Johnson of Branson, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.
Betty Jo met Bob at Co-Lin Junior College where she was a cheerleader and he played football. She loved preparing meals for her family and friends and was a fantastic cook. She was an avid bridge player, an active member of the community and her church, a realtor for 25 years and afterwards enjoyed clothing her grandchildren in her store Tots to Teens.
She deeply cherished her 60 years in Vicksburg with her loving husband and was blessed by her friendships that were made.
