Israel Sylvester Lee, Jr.

ROLLING FORK — Israel Sylvester Lee, Jr. (Dooley) was born Jan. 16, 1922 in Mayersville to Alice Wade Lee and Israel S. Lee.
He attended Mayersville Public schools until he joined the U.S. Air Force.
After his military career, he farmed and worked at the Crittenden Ice Cream Company in Greenville until 1959. Then in 1960, he opened South Delta Motors, a Chevrolet-Oldsmobile dealership in Rolling Fork.
Mr. Lee passed away on Nov. 19, 2017. He is survived by his three sons, Robert Wade Lee, Richard Ernest Lee and Israel S. Lee, IV; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ann Elizabeth Abney of Houston, Texas.
Mr. Lee enjoyed hunting and was a charter member of the Flag Lake Hunting Club. Mr. Lee was married to Sally Mae O’Bannon from Greenville until she passed away in 2003.
Visitation will be Dec. 7, 2017 at 10 a.m. and the service will be at 11 a.m. at the Chapel of the Cross Episcopal Church in Rolling Fork. Burial will follow in Mound Cemetery. Glenwood Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
