Elizabeth Atkins Waring, born June 15, 1932, passed from this life on Jan. 3, 2018. She was the daughter of Walter Lee and Delcie Arleana Ipock Atkins of Columbus.
She is survived by her daughter, Patti Webb; her granddaughter, Lindsey Webb Dancy and her husband Nathan Dancy; her grandson, Robert Webb and his wife, Ashlee Webb; and her great-grandchildren Willow Michelle Webb and Braxton Lee Bell; a sister, Janette O’Barr and her husband Jake O’Barr; a brother, Morris Ray Atkins and his wife, Merland Atkins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edmund Waring; her brothers, R.C. Atkins, Parker Atkins, and Arthur Atkins; and sister, Tommie Dean Richardson.
Elizabeth was married to Patrick “Buttons” Crum for many years and resided in Tallulah, La.
Later, she moved to Vicksburg and was married to Robert Waring until his death. She enjoyed golfing, gardening, and playing cards. In her later years, she became a puzzle book wiz, was always ready to discuss politics with anyone and always had a Hershey bar nearby. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.
Her family thanks her “special angels” that helped with her care, Cassie Cook, Veronica Terry, Yvonne Jordan and Shy Watson.
Elizabeth did not want a fuss made over her at this time. Her daughter and grandchildren will host a private celebration of life service.
