Man arrested on multiple grand larceny charges

A Warren County man is charged with two counts of grand larceny in two burglaries that took occurred in the parking lots of multiple hotels, Vicksburg police Sgt. Johnnie Edwards said.

Colby Michael Ashley, 31, 407 Garden Grove Drive, was being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $40,000 bond, accused of taking hunting equipment from a pickup at one hotel and tools from an enclosed trailer parked at another.

His bond was set by Judge Toni Terrett at an initial appearance Tuesday in Municipal Court.

Ashley is accused of the Jan. 2 theft of $15,000 in hunting equipment taken from a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado pickup parked at the Courtyard by Marriott, 1 Underwood Drive.

Edwards said a bow, three camouflage body suits, a pair of Muck boots, Hawk tree stand with ladder, film sliders in a red and black bag, SK arrows case, harness, camouflage safety vest, green tool box and box tow were reported taken.

Ashley is also accused in the Jan. 8 theft of a tool box of Craftsman tools reported taken from an enclosed trailer parked at the Super 8 Hotel, 3308 Pemberton Square Blvd.

Both cases remain under investigation, and more arrests and charges are anticipated in the case.

Police also reported the following arrests between Monday and Wednesday:

• Eric Anchel Kelly, 51, 812 Dyches Drive, Savannah, Ga., was arrested about 2:24 p.m. Monday in the 1100 block of North Frontage Road on charges of simple assault — creating fear and trespassing.

• James Robert Gibbs III, 45, 310 Linda St., was arrested about 1:50 p.m. Monday at the Vicksburg Police Department on a charge of contempt of court.

• Lawrence Tyler Walker, 23, 1119 Farmer St., was arrested about 9:27 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Clay Street and Old Highway 27 on a charge of possession of marijuana in a vehicle.

• Lawanda Trimble, 24, 1405 Hayes St., was arrested about 8:50 p.m. Monday in the 2100 block of Iowa Boulevard on a charge of first-offense shoplifting.

• Latonya Ferguson, 33, 110 Eastover Drive, was arrested about 8:50 p.m. Monday in the 2100 block of Iowa Boulevard on charges of first-offense shoplifting and contempt of court.

• Monique Evans Trimble, 32, 807 Cherry St., was arrested about 8:50 p.m. Monday in the 2100 block of Iowa Boulevard on a charge of second-offense shoplifting.

• Warrants were served Sunday on Christianna Deanna Howard, 410 Lake Hill Drive A-1.

Christopher Quashawn Galloway, 21, was arrested about 10:45 a.m. Sunday in the 3400 block of Halls Ferry on charges of failure to yield right of way, no proof of insurance, seatbelt violation and improper car tags.

• Sarah Ann Jackson, 74, 539 Hugo St., was arrested about 8:58 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Hugo Street on a charge of malicious mischief.

• Joshua Carroll Moore, 26, 212 Grinder Place, was arrested about 2:16 a.m. in the 3400 block of Halls Ferry Road on charges of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of less than an oune of marijuana.

• Logan Michael Pickering, 21, 7164 U.S. 61 North, Port Gibson, was arrested about 2:20 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of China and Walnut streets on a charge of having an open container of alcohol.

• Davis Wade Smith Sr., 34, 2649 Oak Ridge Road, was arrested about 1:11 a.m. Sunday in the 2600 block of Oak Ridge Road on a charge of contempt of court.

• Zackary Alden Brannan, 21, 147 Cain Ridge Road, was arrested Saturday in the 100 block of Cain Ridge Road on a charge of disturbance of family.

• Quinton Thomas Landon, 18, 1115 First North St., was arrested about 6:36 p.m. Saturday in the 2500 block of Iowa Boulevard on a charge of shoplifting.

• Javionn Amoni Stribling, 18, 1115 First North St., was arrested about 6:38 p.m. Saturday in the 2500 block of Iowa Boulevard on a chrge of first-offense shoplifting.

• Dorothy Marie Gibbs, 37, 1805 Cherry St., was arrested about 6:04 p.m. Saturday in the 2100 block of Iowa Boulevard on a charge of first-offense shoplifting. She was also served with warrants involving other violations.

• Warrants were served Saturday on Shamarr Ladall Horton, 23, 95 Hometown Road.

• Omega Moneka White, 32, 1005 Hinds St., Pattison, was arrested about 1:24 p.m. Saturday in the 2100 block of Iowa St. on a charge of second-offense shoplifting. She was also served with a warrant on another offense.

• A warrant was served Friday on Jaclyn Pendleton, no age listed, 1317 Farmer St.

• Warrants were served Friday on Michael Coleman Brooks, 28, 1386 North Wright Road.

• Lashauna Moran-Hinton, 48, 100 Wigwam Road, was arrested Friday at the police department on a charge of contempt of  court.
