Jean Gann

Virginia A. “Jean” Gann passed away Monday, Feb. 5, 2018. She was 91.

Mrs. Gann was born July 31, 1926, in Hopkinsville, Ky., to the late Garner and Lonnie Clark Allen. She had been a resident of Vicksburg since childhood. She was a former member of the Salvation Army Auxiliary and was an active volunteer with Operation Christmas Child.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Vicksburg.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gann was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Ray “Nootsie” Gann and a granddaughter, Kristen Casey Brooks.

Mrs. Gann is survived by a daughter, Lynda Brooks (Butch) of Longview, Texas; a son, the Rev. Don Gann (Melinda) of Oxford; four grandchildren, Carley Cordell of Dallas, Texas, Cole Brooks of Longview, Texas, Kelli Gann of New Orleans, La., and Michael Gann (Kayla) of Tupelo; and two great-grandchildren, Cadyn Cordell and Dak Dundas.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2018, at Riles Funeral Home with Dr. Matt Buckles and the Rev. Don Gann officiating.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David Baldwin, JW Carter, Martin Chaney, Larry Daggett, Dan Daily, Winky Freeman, Randy Oswalt and Calvin Pugh.
