A man has been arrested by the Warren County sheriff’s office on charges of auto theft, residential burglary and possession of methamphetamine.
Michael Todd Nevels, 33, was arrested around noon Thursday after being spotted driving a stolen 2006 Toyota on 61 South by sheriff’s detective Sam Winchester.
Sheriff Martin Pace said the car had been reported stolen by a family member of Nevels on Feb. 6. He was also charged with possession of methamphetamines, after they were found during a search of the vehicle.
Nevels is also charged with the Feb. 6 burglary of a residence in the 1000 block of Rollingwood Drive.
“A shotgun was reported stolen,” Pace said. “We have not recovered the shotgun yet, but he has been charged with residential burglary.”
Unlike the auto theft, the residential burglary had no connection to Nevels’ family, Pace said.
Nevels is being held without bond on a detainer placed on him by the Mississippi Department of Corrections for violating his parole for a previous burglary conviction.
