Two Warren County teenagers face charges of statutory rape, Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace said.

He said Tyree L. Miller, 18, 108 Elms Lane, and a 16-year-old boy were being held in the Warren County Jail. The 16-year-old’s name was not released, pending a decision by a circuit court judge whether he will be tried as an adult. The pair have an initial appearance Friday.

The arrests involve an incident that occurred Monday, in which the teens are accused of having a sexual encounter with two girls, each under the age of 15. According to state law, Pace said, the teens are not supposed to have a relationship of a sexual nature with someone under the age of 15.

Miller was arrested at 11 a.m. Thursday and the 16-year-old at 1:30 p.m.

He declined to comment further on the case citing confidentiality laws involving juveniles.
