SOUTH HILL, Va. — Donald J. Cappaert, age 89, of South Hill, died Sunday, March 18, 2018.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Sue Cappaert of the home; a son, Joe Cappaert of South Hill, Va.; and daughter, Donna C. Heath (Horace) of Kure Beach, N.C. Also surviving is a granddaughter, Kathryn McAden (Kirk); and great-grandchildren, Peyton and Maddison McAden.

Mr. Cappaert was a veteran having served in the U S Air Force. He spent many years working in the manufacturing industry with Magnolia Homes before founding Cardinal Homes, Wylliesburg, Va., in 1970.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 20, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Farrar Funeral Home in South Hill.

A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. at Crestview Memorial Park, LaCrosse, Va.
