PORT GIBSON — Alice Lomax Chess, 72, of Port Gibson passed away peacefully Saturday, March 17, 2018, at her home.

Visitation will be Friday, March 23, 2018, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with a friends and family hour from 7 to 8 p.m. at Westhaven Funeral Home in Utica.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 24, at 2 p.m. at St. Peter A.M.E. Church in Port Gibson with burial in Little Zion Cemetery in Hermanville.

She leaves to celebrate her life, a husband of 53 years, Lenair Chess; three sons, David (Tammy) Harris of Port Gibson, Barry (Edna) Chess of Clinton, and Calvin Chess of Oakland, Calif.; one sister, Linda (Dennis) Boney of Byram; four granddaughters, Sharde’ (Darryl), De’ja’, Tia and Mekyra; and a host of in-laws; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.
