Don Still

Don Still died Sunday, April 1, 2018. He was 72 years old.

Visitation and services will be at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg. Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. and services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2018. The Rev. Ben Waltman will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Gardens.

Don was a former resident of Vicksburg from 1946 to 1982. He was born in Brownsville, Tenn., in 1946. He was a graduate of H.V. Cooper High School.

He worked from 1978 to 2004 with the U.S. Postal Service. He was past secretary of the Vicksburg Bowling Association from 1978 to 1980. He served on the Board of Directors and was past vice president of the Meridian Bowling Association from 1995 to 2000. He bowled for 30 years and won many awards.

Don was a life member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the Moose Lodge of Meridian and Citizen Police Academy. Don lived his life to the fullest. He will be missed by all that knew him and loved him. He gave his time to help others and never wanted anything in return. He never got over the death of his only child, his daughter. Now he can have peace in heaven with her. God bless him and take care of him.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Dawn Still; his parents, Orville Fredrick Still Sr. and Maudie Lee Still; his two brothers, O.F. (Junior) Still and Lawrence E. Strahan and his wife, Mabrey; and his sister, Freda Delores (Still) Bryant.

He is survived by two sisters, Violet S. Bliss and Patricia Sue (Still) Wyatt and husband, Lee Wyatt; a dear niece, Diane Kavanaugh; and other nieces and nephews.
