Funeral services for Emily J. Jenkins, a former Vicksburg resident, will be Friday, April 5, 2018, at the chapel of W.H. Jefferson Funeral Home with a viewing from noon to 2 p.m., then internment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Emily J. Jenkins passed away Thursday, March 29, in Raliegh, N.C., following a brief illness. She was 91.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Edwards S. Jenkins Sr.; her parents, Marion and Ethel Harris; and a brother, Marrion Harris Jr.

She is survived by her sons, Edward Jenkins Jr. (Lura) of Conyers, Ga. and Rodney Jenkins (Angie) of Raliegh N.C.; her sister, Etherl Smith of McCordsville, Ind.; and her brothers, Elliot Harris of Stone Mountain, Ga. and A.L. Harris of Vicksburg; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews cousins, and others.
