A teenager is being held without bond in the Warren County Jail charged with auto burglary and two counts of auto theft after his arrest Wednesday evening after a two-hour standoff at a mobile home on Stenson Road.

Sheriff Martin Pace said Hunter Leigh Cryer, 15, who gave an address on Mount Alban Road, was certified by the courts as an adult in a previous case. Also arrested was Andrew Harwell Hearn, 21, 581 Stenson Road, who is charged with hindering prosecution by harboring a fugitive. He is also being held without bond.

Cryer is accused of a March 23 auto burglary on Oak Ridge Road in which a semi-automatic handgun was reported stolen; the March 26 theft of a 2014 Ford Focus which was unlocked and had the keys in the ignition; and the Tuesday theft of a 2003 Chevrolet pickup taken from the 6000 block of Tiffintown Road, which was also unlocked and had the keys in the ignition.

The pickup was recovered. Pace said the case remains under investigation and other charges may be filed against Cryer. He said deputies also found a 2002 Toyota Tundra pickup reported stolen earlier Wednesday from Vicksburg parked at the trailer.

Deputies went to the trailer to serve a warrant on Cryer about 2 p.m. Wednesday. Cryer tried to leave the trailer, but ran back inside, starting a standoff that went until 4 p.m., when Cryer surrendered.

Pace said deputies received information that Cryer had been seen brandishing a pistol in the area and were concerned about safety during the standoff.

“We were very cautious and took every precaution to protect the suspect, the deputies and the people living in the trailer park,” he said, adding deputies found a .38-caliber handgun hidden in an air conditioner during a search of the trailer after Cryer’s arrest.

In another case, a Vicksburg man is charged with kidnapping and aggravated assault after he abducted a man and bound and beat him up. Pace said another man is also being sought in the case.

William Anthony Harris, 62, was being held in the Warren County Jail in lieu of $25,000 after his arrest on the charges Tuesday.

Pace said a deputy patrolling on Fisher Ferry Road was stopped by a man who said he had been abducted by two other men and beat him up. Further investigation indicated assault was the result of an argument between Harris and the victim, who was not identified, over money and a pickup truck.

The attack remains under investigation, and Pace said other arrests are likely.
