James Scott Skipper

James Scott Skipper died Friday, April 13, 2018, at The Bluff Rehabilitation and Health Care Center. He was 69.

Born in Vicksburg, Scott was the son of the late James Frank Skipper and Jennie Scott Skipper.

He was a graduate of H. V. Cooper High School and received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Mississippi College. He was retired from the Warren County Road Department.  Scott was an avid historian and a member of the First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Markow Skipper; two daughters, Joan Skipper of Vicksburg and Jamie Gjonaj of Michigan. He is also survived by five grandchildren.

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday April 17, 2018 at Riles Funeral Home with Dr. Matt Buckles, Pastor of First Baptist Church officiating.  Visitation will be Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the service.  Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and charities of choice.

Pallbearers will be Gene Abbott, Richard George, Dennis Holmes, Wendell Moore, Jerry Owens and Arnold Lumbley.
