Port Gibson earned its first baseball playoff win in recent history on Thursday, but couldn’t recapture the magic on Friday.
Raleigh took advantage of eight errors and beat the Blue Waves 17-5 in Game 2 of their Class 3A playoff series on Friday.
The best-of-three series is now even at one game apiece — the Blue Waves won 9-5 in Game 1 — with Game 3 scheduled for Monday at 6 p.m. at Port Gibson.
B.J. Hill had two hits, two RBIs and scored a run for Port Gibson (6-5) in Game 2, while Jacory Rankin, Myron Stewart and Phidelric Barber had one hit apiece.
