Letter: Reader disagrees with Surratt about President Trump

To the editor:
I want to express my distaste for the bias evident in the content of the editorials and “staff” columns in the Vicksburg Post, the latest being the repugnant statements made by John Surratt in his hate-filled April 12, 2018 column.
Mr. Surratt makes clear his loathing of our president, on whom, together with the Republicans in congress, he places blame for most of Washington’s problems.
Likewise, in past “guest” columns, President Trump has been subject to similar malice. None have given him credit for his accomplishments, e.g., tax cuts, a surging economy, progress in preventing illegal immigration, a more conservative supreme court, the dismantling of many of Obama’s anti-American regulations, etc., etc.
I recognize that Mr. Trump is a rather “rough” individual, but I don’t give a damn. For the most part, he is fulfilling the pledges he made to the American people. I voted for him, as did the majority of the rest of Warren County (if my memory serves me correctly), and I would vote for him again.
The Post can continue to persecute the man and promote its leftist opinions if it dares, but its positions do not harmonize with those of a probable majority of Warren County residents.
The newspaper has already “shrunk” to the size of a large postage stamp, and may well disappear altogether if it continues to be at odds with a large segment of the residents of our county.
