Roosevelt Gardner, age 55, died Thursday, May 3, 2018, at his home in Vicksburg. He was born on July 10, 1962, in Vicksburg, the son of Ethel R. Mace Gardner and the late Frank Allen Gardner Sr.
Roosevelt was preceded in death by his father, Frank Allen Gardner Sr.; nephew, Stanford Kidd Sims; maternal grandparents, Coniell Carson Mace Warfield and Stanford B. Mace; paternal grandparents, Josie B. Gardner and Willie Gardner; and special friend, Irma Woodson.
Roosevelt is survived by his mother, Ethel Ruth Gardner of Vicksburg; two brothers, Frank (Joyce) Gardner Jr. of Vicksburg and James Lee Gardner of Aurora, Ill.; seven sisters, Dora (Nathaniel) Christian of Durant, Ethel (Alfonse) Reese of Vicksburg, Betty (Edward Sr., deceased) Huell of Vicksburg, Josie B. Gardner of Vicksburg, Pauline (Johnnie) Sims of Vicksburg, Robbie (Kenneth) Moore of Clinton and Barbara (Willie Pat) Taylor of Bolton. Others who grieve his death are the children of Irma Woodson (Johnathan, Kimberly, and Erika); 25 nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives (uncles, aunts and cousins).
Visitation will be Friday, May 11, 2018, at Jefferson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Christian Home M.B. Church No. 2 located at the corner of Gibson and Lee roads in Warren County.
