Raymond C. Gabriel died March 25 at his home in Gulf Shores, Ala. He was 81 years old.

Mr. Gabriel retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers after serving in several locations, including New Orleans, La., and Vicksburg.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; six children, Mike Gabriel of Robertsdale, Ala., Nancy Hebert of Gretna, La., Linda McJimsey of Broussard, La., Janice Perry of Atlanta, Ga., Melanie Harris of Mobile, Ala., and Joe Gabriel of Pensacola, Fla.; twelve grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Services were held at St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church in Foley, Ala., with interment at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna, La.
