Funeral services for George Patterson Sr. will be Friday, June 1, at the chapel of W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home at 1 p.m. with the Elder Larry Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

George Patterson Sr. passed away Saturday, May 26, at Merit Health River Region following a lengthy illness. He was 80.

He had worked as a mechanic and was a member of the Gospel of Jesus Christ Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Issac and Estella Marie Gordon-Patterson Sr.; his wife, Barbara Patterson; his daughter, Estella Patterson; and his brother, Issac Patterson Jr.

He is survived by his two sons, George Patterson Jr. and Issac Lee Patterson, both of Vicksburg; his two daughters, Chantey Patterson and Barbara Jean Patterson-Harris, both of Vicksburg; his two sisters, Coretta Jones of Vicksburg and Mary Copeland of Omaha, Nevada; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
