Maxine Watson

Maxine Watson of Hazlehurst, formerly of Vicksburg, died Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at Merit Health-Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. She was 67.

Miss Watson was a native of Rolling Fork and a graduate of Rolling Fork High School. She attended Hinds Community College. She retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.

Miss Watson was preceded in death by her parents, Max Hugh Watson and Mary Wynn Watson; and a grandson, Tanner Harrison Lee Page.

She is survived by her daughter, Johnalin Hicks Page of Vicksburg; her son, Trent Hicks of Vicksburg; her brother, Dr. Robert Watson of Hazlehurst; two nephews, Wynn Watson and Andrew Watson of Hazlehurst; and a niece, Lauren Watson, also of Hazlehurst.

A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2018, at Immanuel Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Brumfield officiating.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Her family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Immanuel

Baptist Church, 6949 Highway 61 South, Vicksburg, MS 39180.
