Ada Faye Johnson, a Vicksburg resident, passed away Saturday, June 2, at Merit Health River Region following a lengthy illness. She was 79. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jonah and Lula Ross; her husband, Braxton Johnson; son, Robert Ross; brothers, R.L. Ross, Ray Ross Sr., Jimmy Ross, Johnny Ross Sr. and L.V. Ross; and her sisters, Sallie F. Bailey and Frankie Seal Fosters.

She is survived by her two sons, Rickey Ross and Terry Ross, both of Vicksburg; her sister, Lizzie Rader of Vicksburg; 23 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Ada Faye Johnson will be Saturday, June 9, at 11 a.m. at Vicksburg City Auditorium with the Rev. J. P. Virette officiating. Interment shall follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery with W H. Jefferson Funeral Home in charge.
