Blaze wins softball state title

STATE CHAMPIONS: The Mississippi Blaze won the FASA Mississippi Class C state tournament Saturday at Halls Ferry Park. The Blaze went 5-2 in the one-day tournament, and battled out of the losers’ bracket to beat the MS Chaos 9-3 in the championship game. The Mississippi Blaze won the FASA Mississippi Class C 12-and-under state tournament Saturday at Halls Ferry Park. The Blaze went 5-2 and battled out of the losers’ bracket to win the state championship, beating the MS Chaos 9-3 in the final.
Another Vicksburg-based team, the Rip Tide, finished fourth in the eight-team tournament.
