Jimmy Ray Ballard died Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at Merit Health River Region.

He was 84.

Mr. Ballard was born in Mulberry, Ark., to the late Thomas and Flossie Ballard.

He was a graduate of the University of Arkansas and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Ballard had been a resident of Vicksburg since 1967 and retired from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as an economist. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Vicksburg.

Mr. Ballard is survived by his wife, Linda Ballard; two daughters, Sara Sykes (Jay) and Mary Anne Starnes (Mike), both of Vicksburg; and four grandchildren, Allyson Sykes, Ryan Sykes, Tana Starnes and Tyler Starnes.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2018, at Riles Funeral Home. Interment will be at New Cemetery in Mulberry, Ark.
