Man indicted in shooting and robbery attempt

A Vicksburg man has been indicted on multiple charges involving a May 20 shooting and attempted robbery.
The indictments handed down by the Warren County grand jury charge Oscar Lee Anderson Jr., 25, 2705 Drummond St., with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon after felony conviction and attempted armed robbery.
Anderson is accused of shooting Steven Dale Lahatte, 53, in the chest and trying to rob Lahatte by putting a gun to his head and demanding money. He is being charged as a habitual offender because of a previous felony conviction.
Vicksburg police officers responding to a 911 call about 2:20 a.m. May 20 involving shots fired in the 1100 block of Bowmar Avenue arrived to find Lahatte on the ground in front of a building in the 2700 block of Drummond Street at the corner of Drummond and Bowmar with a gunshot wound to his chest.
In another case, Romelo James Walker, 20, 1310 Bowmar Ave., and Samuel Eugene Matthews, 28, 204 Kendra Drive, were indicted on two counts of armed robbery, the first occurring Oct. 25, and the second on Oct. 31.
Matthews is being charged as a habitual offender because he has two previous felony convictions.
Other indictments include:
• Sam Tubwell Stampley III, 36, 2215 Pearl St.; aggravated assault domestic violence.
• Justin Keith Barrett, 33, 205 Bell Bottom Road, Redwood; burglary of a dwelling.
• Bobby Deonte Moore, 41, 1200 Mission 66 No. 322, and Andrey Jerome Moore, 40, 1301 East Magnolia St.; sale of controlled substance. Bobby Moore and Andrey Moore are charged as habitual offenders because they had previous felony convictions.
• Bobby Moore was also indicted on two other charges of sale of a controlled substance.
• Kersey Albert Young, 26, 1200 Mission 66 Apt. 327; sale of a controlled substance.
• Deshawn Montellodel Williams, 26, 898 National St., and Kersey Albert Young, 26, 1200 Mission 66 Apt. 327; two counts possession of a controlled substance.
