Robert R. “Mr. Bob” Johnson passed away at his home Friday, July 20, 2018. He is preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Ann Harris Johnson. He was 86 years old and really looking forward to his next birthday party.

Bob and Shirley lived and traveled all over the world making their home in New Iberia, Louisiana, in 2002. He often commented how glad he was that they settled here. He was a patriot and joined and served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War and shook the hands of four U.S. Presidents at a time when that meant something. He then worked with and retired from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Waterways Experiment Station in Vicksburg. His work and contributions earned numerous commendations. His next adventure was the work he did at Auburn University for NCAT (National Center for Asphalt Technology) where he was instrumental in the development and completion of their highly acclaimed test track.

He said his greatest accomplishment in his life was his family: his wife, his two daughters, and his grandson. He truly set the example as a husband, father, grandfather, friend, and professional.
