Just after 10 a.m. this morning, a three-vehicle wreck involving three 18-wheelers collided on Interstate 20 just east of Bovina.
According to Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Kervin Stewart, the wreck occurred when one tractor-trailer hydroplaned, left the roadway and collided into the cable barrier in the median, blocking the left lane. A second 18-wheeler slowed and was struck by a third 18-wheeler.
According to Stewart, the drivers of the first and third 18-wheelers were not injured. The driver and a passenger in the second 18-wheeler were transported to Merit Health River Region hospital in Vicksburg with unknown injuries. Currently, the eastbound lane of I-20 is closed and should be reopened by 3 p.m., according to Stewart.
