Funeral services for Ruthel Martin Jr. will be noon Saturday, Oct. 6, at Second Union M. B. Church with the Rev. George Martin officiating. Interment will follow at Second Union Cemetery under the direction W. H. Jefferson Funeral Home.

Mr. Martin passed away Thursday, Sept. 27, at Promise Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 71.  He was retired from Anderson-Tully Lumber Mill and was a member of the Second Union M. B. Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruthel Martin Sr. and Roberta Steed.

He is survived by his fiancé, Johnnie Jackson of Vicksburg; two sons, Ruthel Smith and Terrance Martin, both of Vicksburg; his daughters, Jacqueline Foster and Felecia Stewart, both of Vicksburg; Ruby Gaskin of Aurora, Illinois, and D’Ambra Martin of Clinton; his sisters, Hazel Stewart of Biloxi and Roberta Martin of Buffalo New York; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
