Local students meet with recruiters and potential employers

Vicksburg High and Warren Central students were afforded the opportunity to meet with recruiters, potential employers and colleges from the surrounding areas during the Vicksburg-Warren College and Career Fair at the Vicksburg High AJROTC Building Tuesday.
Recruiters from the National Guard and Marines were present, as were college representatives from University of Louisiana Monroe, Jackson State University, Alcorn State and Hinds Community College. Career representatives included the Vicksburg Police Department, Warren County Sheriff’s Department, attorney Kimberly Walker Nailor, Vicksburg District U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and AmeriCorps NCCC and FEMA Corps.

Courtland Wells is a staff photographer at The Vicksburg Post. He is a native of Tuscaloosa, Ala. and graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi with a bachelor’s degree in Photojournalism. Following graduation, he started at The Vicksburg Post in the fall of 2016. Courtland has won numerous awards through the Mississippi Associated Press Managing Editors and the Mississippi Press Association. His work has also been featured in the New York Times and Washington Post as well as other national publications. Courtland is a member of the Vicksburg Young Professionals.
