Terrett maintains lead in circuit court race

Municipal Judge Toni Walker Terrett continues to lead Angela Carpenter in the race for 9th Circuit District Judge Place 1 after returns from Issaquena and Sharkey counties.

Carpenter won both counties, getting 339 votes to 161 for Terrett in Issaquena County, and 808 votes to 689 for Terrett in Sharkey County. Terrett won in Warren County with 1,965 to 1,526 for Carpenter. The Warren County total does not include absentee or affidavit ballots.

The present totals are Terrett 2,815 votes and 2,673 for Carpenter. The winner replaced Circuit Judge Isadore Patrick, who is retiring.
