Martha Dawn Eaves

Martha Dawn Eaves passed away on Nov. 4, 2018, at her home in Powell, Ohio. She was 55.
Born Feb. 14, 1963, in Vicksburg, she was the daughter of Royce Clayton Eaves and Irene Benton Eaves. “Marti” had been a longtime resident of Vicksburg, and had recently retired and relocated to Powell, Ohio, to live with her sister, Bobbi Sutliff, who cared for her lovingly and with great kindness in her final days.
She graduated from Northwest Rankin High School and later attended Mississippi State University. After college, she began work in Vicksburg and was a longtime employee of McRae’s Department Store (now Belk) at the Pemberton Square Mall.
In her early life, Marti enjoyed square dancing, reading, and card playing with friends, and later latch hooking and embroidery. She was particularly fond of her beloved and devoted dogs, “Buddy” and “Pugsly” and became much involved in dog training with her sister, Bobbi, after she moved to Ohio.
She is survived by her stepmother, Thelma Harris; her sister, Bobbi Eaves Sutliff with her son, Jack Sutliff, both of Ohio, and her sister, Dr. Theresa G. Jones, with her husband, Malcolm of Pass Christian, and their four daughters, Dr. Jessica Jones Northcutt and her husband, Trey; Mallory Jones Lehrhoff and her husband, Michael, and their children, Herbie and Maggie; Dr. Brittany Jones Varney and her husband, Jonathan and their child, Samantha; and Chelsea Jones and her boyfriend, Colin Clements. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation services with her family will be held at Glenwood Funeral Home in Vicksburg, on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2018, from 1 to 2:30 p.m.
