Funeral services for Willie Mae Johnson are to be held on Saturday, Dec. 1, in the Greater Grove Street M. B. Church at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. Casey D. Fisher officiating; interment shall follow under the direction of W. H. Jefferson in the Cedar Hill Cemetery. There will be a visitation held on Friday, Nov. 3, in the funeral home from 6-7 p.m.
Willie Mae Johnson passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 21, in the Merit Health River Region Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was 71.
She was a retired LPN and member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She had been an active member of the Elks Lodge Eureka Temple.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Viola Canda, and her brother, Charles Canda.
She is survived by her husband, Robert M. Johnson of Vicksburg; her three daughters, Pamela Johnson, Ellen Hambrick and Lisa Johnson, all of Dallas, Texas; her sister, Jeanette Canda of Detroit, Michigan; 10 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
