A Port Gibson man was killed Wednesday morning when a house trailer he was helping set up fell on top of him in Warren County.

According to Warren County Sheriff Martin Pace, 911 Dispatch received a call at 11:30 a.m. that a man was trapped under a house trailer on Bell Bottom Road, which is off Mississippi 3 north of the Redwood community.

Units from the Vicksburg Fire Department, county fire department and ambulance responded to the scene to help extricate Frederick Ross, 56, who was underneath the trailer.

Warren County Coroner Doug Huskey declared Ross dead at the scene.

According to Pace, Ross and several other individuals were setting up the house trailer at a deer camp when it slipped off a set of blocks as it was being jacked up. Ross was working under the house trailer and was pinned.

The incident is being investigated by the Warren County Sheriff’s Department, but Pace said there is no reason to believe foul play is involved.
