Several Warren County families will enjoy a much brighter Christmas this year thanks to the generosity of the community in providing toys for the Salvation Army Angel Tree program.
Thursday, volunteers helped distribute the donations for those in need.at the old Cannon Toyota building on Clay Street.
According to Vicksburg Salvation Army Maj. Steve Welch, approximately 160 families benefitted from Thursday’s distribution, while another 90 senior citizens who were also on the Angel Tree at the Vicksburg Mall will receive donations.
He said local churches, businesses and other organizations also took part in adopting the 450 angels that were on the tree.
