“Preliminary reports indicate that a passenger car was traveling westbound, hydro-planed causing the driver to lose control, leaving the roadway, where it struck an embankment and came back into the westbound lanes,” Stewart said. “As the passenger car came back into the westbound lanes, it collided with a westbound 18-wheeler.”

Stewart said several passengers were injured and transported to local hospitals. The driver of the 18-wheeler was not injured.
