ELECTION 2019: 2 file papers to challenge supervisors

Two challengers have jumped into the August primary election after filing qualifying papers with the Warren County Circuit Clerk’s office.
Marty Crevitt and Shawn Jackson are seeking positions on the Warren County Board of Supervisors after filing their paperwork. Crevitt filed as a Republican to challenge District 4 incumbent John Carlisle, while Jackson filed as a Democrat and she plans to face District 3 incumbent Charles Selmon.
Crevitt and Jackson are the only two challengers so far to file paperwork in the August election.
Meanwhile, current Warren County Board of Supervisors President Richard George also qualified for re-election this week. George, an Independent, is seeking his sixth term as a supervisor.

Candidates have until 5 p.m. March 1 to file their qualifying paperwork.
Candidate information and forms are available on the Secretary of State’s website or at the Circuit Clerk’s Office.
Primary elections will be held Aug. 6, with a runoff set for Aug. 27, if necessary. The general election will be held Nov. 5 and the possible runoff Nov. 26.
