Kathy Smith passed peacefully from this earth and into heaven on Feb. 26, 2019, at the home of her daughter in Madison. Kathy was born in Union, on Aug. 20, 1936, to Thomas Eber Wooten and Allene Byram Wooten.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Clarese Wooten of Natchitoches, Louisiana, and S. J. and Allene Long of Vicksburg; her husband, Thomas D. Smith Jr.; her sons, Richard (Ricky) Sullivan and David Sullivan, and her grandsons, Tyler and Hadyn Smith.
She is survived by her daughter, Reginia Zinke (George); sons, Eddie Sullivan and Thomas D. “Trey” Smith, III (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Robert Cody Goss (Sarah) and Addyson Smith; and her great-granddaughters, Kathryn and Shelby Goss. She is also survived by her stepchildren, Tim Smith, Sandy Fletcher and Keith Smith, their families and many loving cousins.
Kathy had two special requests for her funeral: that there be no flowers and no crying, for she has “gone home.” Her family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Hospice Ministries, 450 Towne Center Blvd., Ridgeland, MS 39157.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2019, at Glenwood Funeral Home with services starting at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Rev. Johnny Collins officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Gardens Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Ben Atkinson, Robert M. Goss, Otis Gough, John Gunn, Darrell Hunter and Doug Self.
